What is cold process soap?
Cold process soap is a traditional method of soap making that combines oils and butters with lye to create a rich, nourishing bar through a natural chemical reaction called saponification. Unlike commercially manufactured soaps, cold process soaps are crafted in small batches and retain naturally occurring glycerin, which helps keep skin moisturised and soft. Because the ingredients are not exposed to high external heat, delicate oils, botanicals, clays, and essential oils maintain more of their beneficial properties. After being poured into molds, the soap cures over several weeks, resulting in a long-lasting bar with a luxurious lather and gentle cleansing qualities suitable for everyday use.
How can I keep my soap at its best?

Store it on a well-draining soap dish away from direct streams of water so air can circulate around the bar and help it dry properly. Avoid leaving soap sitting in puddles or enclosed containers, as excess moisture can cause it to soften and dissolve more quickly. For unused bars, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve their scent, colour, and quality. To extend the life of your soap, keep unused bars in a breathable container or cupboard and allow them to stay dry between uses.
